"We're a naturist gay couple from Barcelona looking for wheelchair accessible beaches in Greece. We've been twice to Greece, to the Peloponnese and the islands of Elafonisos and Kythera. My husband's chair is manual, we're both in good shape and quite adventurous, so we're looking for beaches reachable by car but very quiet, if possible with sunbeds and umbrellas (not essential, but make our lives easier). Is there any beaches/islands you would recommend? We'll spend 2 weeks in the country mid June, and will like to discover 2 new islands. Above all we like it very quiet and not very touristy, good food. Still, if not very naturist or naturist at all, are there places that could suit us that come to your mind?"

Birling Gap to re-open a week ahead of schedule

Birling Gap beach is due reopen a week early after works to repair the staircase were completed.

The beach has been out of use for two months after cliff falls caused damage to the staircase, which takes visitors from the car park down to the beach.

HM Coastguard said it assisted nine people and a dog to safety after steps to the beach at Birling Gap, in East Sussex, were damaged by debris from a cliff fall.

My partner and I are looking to ease ourself into a little bit of naturism. We're not sure how, or were to start, and what the protocols are. We're not into the hedonism scene, but we would like somewhere without children. I am 50, she is 45. she is nervous.

The Barefoot website is a Guide to naturist-friendly beaches, accommodation and activities. Read the History page for the full history but in short, it was set up in the 1990s as a guide to naturist beaches in Greece. In 2024 it changed hands and the new Captain expanded it beyond Greece, and also beyond beaches.

The current Captain has tried to maintain the original ethos and spent a lot of time copying all the information from the original website. The new design is much fresher, but he understands that not everyone will like the change. It was, however, "Change or Die" as the original Captain no longer had any time to maintain / improve it. The current Captain has a full time job and works on this website when he can, so bear with him if suggestions and changes and reports are not responded to immediately.
