Quasi tutti residenti in Vallagarina, i nudisti del Leno preferiscono definirsi «naturisti», proprio per sottolineare il loro legame con l’ambiente che li circonda. Sulle sponde del fiume hanno creato una specie di paradiso del relax, con panchine, un tavolo e perfino un orticello, il tutto circondato da un basso steccato. «Veniamo qui da 25 anni – spiega uno dei nudisti – forse anche da più tempo. Abbiamo scelto questo posto perché è un luogo appartato.
Stare nudi per noi è una forma di libertà, anche una ribellione contro le regole. La nostra preoccupazione principale è che quest’ambiente rimanga un paradiso». Il Leno di Terragnolo, soprattutto nella zona dei «Laghetti», è infatti continuamente minacciato dalla maleducazione dei bagnanti: negli ultimi anni sono moltissimi i visitatori, di cui molti giovani, che salgono al fiume e che spesso alla fine della giornata lasciano dietro di sé cartacce, bottiglie e lattine. «Siamo gelosi di questo posto – afferma il gruppo di naturisti, seduto attorno ad un tavolo nel loro “eden” – soprattutto perché ultimamente è invaso da persone maleducate.
Poco tempo fa qualche ladruncolo ha perfino danneggiato le nostre auto parcheggiate lungo la strada». Gli altri girano al largo. Solo di rado i normali bagnanti si spingono nell’area dei naturisti anche se questi ultimi si dichiarano aperti ad accogliere chiunque purché si comporti in modo decoroso e rispettoso della natura. «I giovani – raccontano i nudisti – salgono qui anche di notte per farsi delle bevute ma se lasciano tutto come l’hanno trovato per noi non è un problema. Invece non vogliamo che il Leno diventi come Terlago, un luogo di depravazione; già oggi troppo spesso tra gli alberi vediamo dei guardoni con i cannocchiali». I naturisti rimpiangono la situazione di altri paesi europei come Croazia e Spagna, dove la scelta di girare sulle spiagge senza vestiti è diffusa e rispettata. Una scelta, insomma, più culturale che altro. Una scelta di libertà e – visto il caldo di questi giorni – anche di sollievo.
Almost all residents of Vallagarina, the nudists of the Leno prefer to call themselves “naturists,” precisely to emphasize their connection with the surrounding environment. On the banks of the river, they have created a sort of relaxation paradise, complete with benches, a table, and even a small vegetable garden, all surrounded by a low fence.
“We’ve been coming here for 25 years,” explains one of the nudists, “maybe even longer. We chose this spot because it’s a secluded place. For us, being naked is a form of freedom, even a rebellion against the rules. Our main concern is that this environment remains a paradise.”
The Leno di Terragnolo, especially in the “Laghetti” area, is constantly threatened by rude bathers: in recent years, numerous visitors, many of them young, have been coming to the river and often leave behind waste paper, bottles, and cans at the end of the day. “We’re jealous of this place,” say the group of naturists, sitting around a table in their “Eden,” “especially because lately it’s been overrun by rude people. Not long ago, some petty thieves even damaged our cars parked along the road.” The others steer clear. Only rarely do regular beachgoers venture into the naturist area, even though the latter declare themselves open to welcoming anyone as long as they behave with decorum and respect for nature.
“Young people,” the nudists say, “even come here at night to have a drink, but if they leave everything as they found it, it’s not a problem for us. We don’t want Leno to become like Terlago, a place of depravity; already today we too often see voyeurs with binoculars among the trees.” The naturists regret the situation in other European countries like Croatia and Spain, where the choice to wander the beaches without clothing is widespread and respected. A choice, in short, that’s more cultural than anything else. A choice of freedom and – given the heat of these days – also of relief.
