Details
Located on the western coast of Angistri, Dragonera is traditionally a textile beach, where nude sunbathing and wild camping are officially not tolerated.
2016: my contributor found two out of six visitors nude, another woman topless and only two sunbathers fully textile.
2019 May: The water was crystal clear and the atmosphere very relaxed, but those who decide to go for a swim should wear jelly sandals because the ground is full of sea urchins. There were no sea urchins (they moved to Apiosos). No problem going naked at either end of the beach in the little 'bays'.
Little Dragonera
There are no proper maps of Agistri, so it's well worth taking a photo on your smartphone of the map on a board by both harbours when you arrive. This map shows a beach called Little Dragonera and it is roughly 500m north of Dragonera. From Meglahori junction at the town limits sign take the metalled road for Limenaria. After about 1 km look for a gap in the right hand side crash barrier with graffiti painted on the right side barrier. Take the forest track off to the right here and, after about 200m by a felled tree stump, turn right and wind your way down to the sea. You come to an unattractive cove with flat rocks and dried seaweed with a hut on the left above. Climb over the small promontory to the right, facing the sea, and you will come to a small pebble-and-stone beach about 40m long with quite a bit of plastic debris. It’s completely secluded apart from passing boats and these are forced away from the coast by the promontory to the north.
2019 May: Expect to see no-one else on weekdays.
