Now named as Vyzotos beach on Google maps. Challenging to reach but well worthwhile, if you like spectacular isolated beaches, one of the best on the island!

We visited one Sunday and only had to cover up for an hour or so when a couple of shy Greek girls came down but they left after the obligatory bikini selfies. The beach is sometimes used by climbers visiting the cave (a popular climbing venue). Coarse shingle but sheltered in heavy seas.

The beach at the head of the Sikati gulf, visible below the parking at the hairpin, looks beautiful but due to its position, collects huge quantities of flotsam and despite recent efforts to clean it, is unattractive on closer inspection.

2023 September: Vyzotos beach is a gem, but is isolated requiring quite a walk. When I visited there I swam and sunbathed naked for a couple of hours and then two boat loads of climbers turned up! However, they didn’t stay long and I had the beach to myself again. If you are walking to the beach a small diversion is recommended to the massive cave, it’s worth a look from the top.
