Playa Esmeralda is probably the most popular nudist beach in Costa Calma on Fuerteventura. All the beaches in this corner roll into one another, separated by the occasional rocky outcrop. It sites between Playa Costa Calma (to the North) and Playa de Sotavento (to its South).
Whilst Playa Costa Calma is popular with many beds and parasols for hire, it is not so nice sand as Sotavento and well worth the extra 10-15 minute walk along the beach, or 5 minute drive.
Naturists use the whole stretch of the beach.
2025: The Captain visited in September and there were plenty of beachgoers, but it certainly wasn’t crowded.

Getting there
If the tide is out you can walk to/from Costa Calma beach. Do not attempt once the tide starts coming in.
Otherwise walk or drive South to Hotel Esmerelda. This is the the past property in Costa Calma and immediately beyond it is a path down to the beach (of walking) adjacent to a large, free car part (if driving).

Accessibility notes
There is a ramp down from the car park. You can get step-free access. It is a bit of a slope, but manageable.
Naturist information
Naturists use the whole beach. Fuerteventura is very naturist friendly, so feel free to disrobe anywhere along the beach.

Ben daar in Januari ’25 geweest, en hebben daar heerlijk genoten van zonnig weer.
Het is makkelijk te bereiken, de laatste kilometer als je Costa Calma uitrijdt, is onverhard maar goed te doen. Parkeren naast het strand, en binnen 100 meter heb je al een plekje om te genieten. Ben je er al vroeg, dan kun je een stenen cirkel bemachtigen, waar je uit de wind en met wat privacy kunt liggen.

I was there in January ’25, and enjoyed the sunny weather. It is easy to reach, the last kilometer when you leave Costa Calma, is unpaved but easy to do. Park next to the beach, and within 100 meters you have a spot to enjoy. If you are there early, you can get a stone circle, where you can lie out of the wind and with some privacy.
