Kastrosykia (N Kanali)
Details
In the municipality of Preveza, 1 km south-east of the village of Kastrosykia, and at the end of the 13km (there are many exaggerated claims in excess of this) long curved sweep of Monolithi Bay is Kastrosykia Beach. The beach stretches from the village of Pidima Kiras south-eastwards to Kanali. The northernmost end at Pidima Kiras, though far from being overdeveloped, is touristy with beach bars sunbeds and umbrellas. The road also runs close to the seafront and hence this end is not suitable for naturists. However, after about 1km, and beyond where the River Arethon flows out, development is sparse. Barefoot correspondents visited in May 2019 and report that the beach from thereon all the way to Kanali was completely deserted. Going au naturel at that time of the year was certainly not a problem and perhaps worth further investigation nearer peak season… More reports would be welcome!
The beach is mostly sand with some patches of small pebbles. Perhaps a consequence of being a little more remote and not managed, there was some rubbish on the beach.

May: Easily accessible either from Pidima Kiras or Kanali. We found a convenient parking place here.
With so much space we can’t imagine it ever being so crowded that finding a spot to be nude would be a problem. Pity it was a bit overcast and rather breezy but definitely worth a visit. Sea too rough to attempt swimming but a nice sandy beach so probably easy to enter the water although there was some seaweed at the water’s edge. Definitely worth further investigation as may be a quieter option to the beach on the other side of Kanali that is close to the Mango Beach Bar.
