A great place to visit when we first went there, walking up from Georgioupoli, in the late 80s. At that time there were a taverna or two and about 3 pedalos for rent. When we went back in 2006 there were a string of shops, tavernas and at least three companies renting out pedalos. We haven’t been since but it’s probably worth a visit if you’re in the area. In the 80s we went for a stroll by the lake and passed two young women relaxing naked on the shoreline but I doubt if it would be a good idea now.

Historic reviews
2005: A Correspondent noted that although the road-side of this lake is somewhat touristy (you can rent pedal boats), we also saw on the far other side 1 nude couple and 1 male. We did not have time to figure out how to get there.
2015: A visitor counted 51 small boats, canoes and pedalos scattered all over the lake’s surface, so no chance except for exhibitionists!
2016: A correspondent also reported that he swam in Lake Kournas, the freshwater lake about three miles inland from Georgiopolis, and noticed a nude family in a corner of the lake hidden from general view by reeds. However, this was one of few secluded spots accessible by footpath from the access road, and was just about big enough for four people. He swam in the middle of the lake from a pedalo – about 200 yards from shore – but be warned, getting back into the boat is very difficult if you’re not in shallow water, and you may need to get back close to the shore to clamber aboard.
2016 October: Very touristy and lots of walkers so the only possibility of going nude is definitely on the less accessible western shore of the lake. Unfortunately we could find no way to get there on foot!
