Tell me about the beach - what's it made of (Sand/shingle etc.), Access, Features, Accessibility - anything that might help another Barefooter & I'll update the page.

If you have any photos I can use, please send them to photos@barefoot.holiday, letting me know which beach at which location (send a link to this page for instance)

Thanks - The Captain

Below the cape north of Plaka, near the old Aforesmenos lighthouse, lies Chomatistra beach (Παραλία Χωματίστρα). It is a wide bay facing North, only accessible via boat. However, a few hundred metres North of it, there are two smaller beaches that can be accessed by walking. Starting from the little chapel in the wind park on top of the hill, it is a 30-minute walk down to the sea (and 45 minutes back uphill). Note that cars can no longer drive there, as the road is blocked by a big fence.

The two beaches are small with tiny round pebbles and even a patch of sand. Getting into the crystal-clear water is easy, and there are no urchins. It is also great for snorkelling.
