These beaches on the Southern tip of  in Gran Canaria merge into one. It is a broad sweep of sand all the way down to the Maspalomas lighthouse (Faro de Maspalomas).

Playa del Inglés is not naturist, topless is acceptable (as it is anywhere). As you head South, there are kiosks stationed that sell snacks and drinks (both alcoholic and soft). All these kiosks have large numbering on the side and everyone uses these to navigate. The nude area starts between Kiosks 2 and 3 and then right through to kiosk 8, only stopping a couple of hundred yards from the lighthouse. There is a marked-out gay area around kiosk 5, pounding out music and well populated when the Captain was there.

You can walk the whole length of the beach although there is a headland about halfway through. Catch it at, or near, low tide and the sandy beach is exposed. Any other time you have to move up to the pebbly and (in the Captain’s experience) scorchio track. He had to put his footwear on temporarily.

Set back from the beach between kiosks 4 to 8 are a large number of dunes. These are walkable with tracks defined. Just bear in mind that you might encounter certain activities going on in the dunes, although the police do patrol and use drones to monitor it.

In the main areas there are deckchairs and parasols to hire for the day at very reasonable rates. One thing that the Captain encountered all the way along is a good supply of beach showers with built-in foot showers. There are free toilets on a regular basis and shops and restaurants where Inglés meets Maspalomas. Very much a Tourist trap with street vendors selling plenty of fake goods, but the Captain can highly recommend the gelato vendor.
