September 2020 – Pirgos beach is tucked away at the north of the island. The roads to the beach (the last 5km odd) are not tarmac, so not ideal for saloon cars unless you are careful (we had an old 4WD). The beach itself was sandy with some stones and a small chapel which was very picturesque; there are no facilities. The day we went it was very windy, not uncommon on Andros, but the headland provided plenty of shelter and we sunbathed nude all day. We were alone on the beach for the majority of the day, but another couple did arrive and sat very close to us (probably due to the wind), which felt a little awkward.
There seemed to be plenty of other beaches and coves nearby that also looked good for nude sunbathing and swimming, albeit when it wasn’t so very windy.
