2019 September: Agios Georgios is a beautiful beach that is almost completely deserted. During our visit there was not a person to be seen for almost the entire day. There are also no tavernas or other facilities so be sure to take plenty of food and water. The beach is surrounded by hills and bushes that provide almost no shade. On this south east part of the island the roads to Agios Georgios are unpaved and very sandy. Some would suggest that it takes a 4x4 vehicle but our VW polo did the job well despite the bumpy road.

The beach stretches out to 3 kilometres of fine sandy beach with very shallow and calm water. This is an ideal place for diving since the water is calm and no interference of humans whatsoever.

"After enjoying our private beach for a few hours, we saw in the distance a male individual who lay down 2 kilometres away. In addition, the beach was completely deserted. I then decided to climb some hills to take pictures like the one below. Once I got to the hills I saw my wife in the distance looking to me all the time. As it turned out, my wife saw the man completely naked, walking further and further towards me. Standing on a hill surrounded by vegetation, I did not see the man approaching. When I turned around I saw the man standing ten metres in behind me, looking as if he wanted something from me. I was a bit shocked to see this man creeping behind me. The moral of the story is: naturist beaches are not without risks, be careful for perverts."
