A beautiful wide, long, sandy, quiet beach on the strip of land between Lake Korission and the sea. There is enough space that you can pretty much do your own thing - a mixture of naked and clothed people, but no real "rules" and a nice feel to it.

If you drive all the way down towards the end of the beach (where the canal to Lake Korossion is), the beach is more or less 100% nude. Even on a busy August day only a few people / couples. There are lots of bushes and dunes which are perfect wind-breakers and give you a lot of privacy… :)

The water is shallow a long way out, which means it warms up nicely. Sometimes a bit polluted by seaweed.

No canteens down there so bring your own water, sunbed & umbrella along. There are two small beach bars with some sunbeds but, since the beach is so long, it's not busy or noisy at all. Hardly anyone on weekdays, not too busy on Sundays.

There are three tavernas along the road to Halikounas, about 5-15 minutes’ driving from the beach.

2012: Windy when we went – kitesurfing venue, doh! – but we found it very pleasant and relaxed. There were quite a lot of textiles walking the dog or just walking (on a Saturday in May), but everybody was chilled. We weren’t so charmed by the litter.

2013 May: Great beach, discreet naturists in the areas between the snack bars. Surf school not yet open for the season. Lots of space for everybody.

2014 October: I am delighted to report that Halikounas is still very much a beautiful nudist beach: went October 1st and there were five or six nudists between the snack bars. A lot of clothed people walked past and seemed to be cool with the nudists.
It was really pleasant we had an absolutely marvellous afternoon and plenty of room. It was great to swim naked in the sea and dry in warm sun 26°.
Really one with nature as nature intended. A couple of days later we returned and it was just as good as the first day! Can't wait to visit again next year.

2016 July: Indeed, mostly textiles, but very very long beach. So, we found a spot where another naturist couple was already installed, (way) beyond the kite club. We were disappointed to find the beach dominated by textiles (and not a single naturist) for a long stretch while walking down from the north-west end. In the end we gave up and drove to the nearby Issos Beach instead, which is altogether better.

2018 September: We went to this beach for the first time. Right at the very end there were around 20 naturists there, mostly couples. The beach is Windy and not as clean. Everyone left by 5pm.

Getting there
Take road left at Gardiki Castle, then left after 1.5 km or so to Lake Korission (Κορισσία). When the tarmac runs out an unmade road continues along rear of beach for 2-3 km. Park anywhere along this stretch and walk 50 metres or so across dunes to beach.

Towards the end of the dirt road there's a kitesurf club. Past that there's at least a kilometre of quiet, unspoiled beach used by naturists.

Halikounas beach borders the same lake as Issos beach, but to get there you have to take a different road around the other side of the lake.

Lovely Golden Sand Beach but watch for the wind.
Drive right along the Corfu trail once you get down to the beach front.
The road is bumpy and lumpy but fine for normal car if you careful (we did opt for a SUV for this reason). Park up along this tail and then walk 100 yards through the dunes to the beach.
We were there a couple days to the end of june this year and there was a fair wind blowing across the beach which was nice to cool you down but did pick up the dry sand especially in the afternoon. A wind break was really needed, well the fact that the kite surfing school is here should have given us a clue that the wind would be more than other beaches.
This end of the beach there was only us, another couple and two couples together, very quite.
Sea down this end was quite rough and not really and not really good for swimming. shallow out for a way too. Bring your own refreshments, there is a place by the kitesurfing school but it’s quite a way away from this end of the beach.
The better option around this area is Issos Beach as the wind was much less and the sea much calmer.
