Three beaches on the south-western coast. A real adventure to get there, and no help if your car breaks down: this is the far edge of the world.. be very careful if you go here by car after rainfall because there is some bentonite/caolite outcrops that turn the final and steep path to the beach into a gliding surface! If you don't have a 4x4 wheel drive, avoid this last section (3-400 m from the southernmost beach). Even with 4x4 we and other people "glided" back home with some issues when it gets wet…
Unlike Triades here you arrive with the car to the beach further south, and the more you go north, the easier to be naked.
Be careful because recent storms have completely eroded the former path between beaches 2 and 3. Therefore, while some tourist still gets to take pictures of beach 2 from the severe ridge between beach 1 and 2, it is much more adventurous to do the same for beach 3, thus this beach is obviously the most difficult to get to and the most private of all; you can be invisible if you stay south, towards the rocks.
What to say about these 3 beaches: WOOOW! They are all great, but the 2nd and 3rd ones are INCREDIBLE! The bentonite outcrops (white, yellow, red) are completely eroded and modelled by wind and rain, and the shapes of these coloured soils and rocks are really astonishing. Probably one of the most incredible settings we have ever seen for a wild beach! As former visitors hinted, while the first beach is the less suitable for nudism, the 2nd and especially the 3rd one are still great for being naked.
Some barefooters noted that the water is good while not the best in the island, but the landscape is good. Most of the surrounding is wild, no inhabitants around the area. Worth seeing if on Milos for several (>4) days. My correspondent gave this one 75%, recently 2 different correspondents rated it 90% and 100%.
2000 September: A report describes these beaches as the most beautiful on the island. The second and third beaches were predominantly nude but several couples were unclothed at the north end of the first curved beach. The ride from Adamas, however, is tricky and takes almost an hour, with the last half hour over very poor roads with no protection against the sheer cliffs.
2010 June: Very secluded, on the West side of the Island it is rather difficult to reach. When the main road finishes, add 6 km of dirt road as far as to the monastery that gives the name to the beach, then I advise to go on foot on a steep rocky road for 10/15 minutes. You reach the first of three connected beaches. The real beauties are the second and the third ones with golden sand, turquoise waters, wonderful colourful rocks. No natural shade. You will definitely be the only one there, so as nude as you like.
2013 July: The wind was blowing terribly, and it was impossible to stay long on the beach or picnic there. Because of the wind, we were only 8 people on the main beach (we haven't passed the rock north of the main beach, and so, we haven't had a look on the other side). Out of the 8 persons, 6 were naked (including the 2 of us). So, we can say that this beach is still considered nude, but we think it probably turns to textile when there is more audience.
August: Ugly road but worthly. First beach clothed, you take the path on your right hand. Second and third beach 100% nudity. A bit of climbing is required but this is the most beautiful scenery of the island.
2015 August: FORGET Provatas and Agios Ioannis they are NOT anymore nudist beaches, and local testimonies confirmed it to me all season. We were the only 2 naked swimmers and soon gave up.
2018 July: a single barefooter had a very good time here, rating these beaches 95%, assessing that there were no problems staying nude in the 2nd and 3rd beaches.
late September: a naked couple observed the path between the 2nd & 3rd beaches had nearly disappeared; access to the 2nd beach can be tricky whilst to the 3rd it is still worse. You must crawl down through the deep and narrow ravines that weathering has determined on the bentonite outcrops. Not dangerous but a little demanding though. Once there the beaches are incredibly awesome: take your camera with you, colours are unique! The couple stayed naked all day long in both beaches, perfectly alone. It is important to notice that the 3rd beach is really very private, whilst the 2nd beach is very visibile from the path between the 1st and 2nd beaches, where some tourists wander around to take gorgeous pictures of these enchanting settings. Therefore it is almost impossible not be photographed in the 2nd beach. If you feel uncomfortable with this, head to the 3rd one! With north winds the 2nd beach felt more protected though… rating for these beaches from the naked barefooter couple, 110%! Never seen such colours and shapes before!
2022 September: we came by boat and it was deserted (we swam naked from the boat to the beach, relaxed a while and swam back)
